    Tammy Jones Says:

    Judge McAnulty,

My mother lives in Berea and found out about her lung cancer (May 8, 2007) in much the same way you did. After surgery to repair an abdominal aortic aneurysm, Mom’s cardiologist saw some suspicious spots on her liver. Further testing showed stage IV lung cancer that had already spread to her liver. She’s 88 and stopped smoking about five years ago. She’s helped several of her friends quit smoking, too.

I am thankful your surgery went smoothly and am praying the same for your chemo and radiation treatments. May each day find you stronger, healthier and completely at peace.

Through your advocacy many, many smokers will get the help they need to quit before a doctor tells them they have lung cancer.

You will save lives, I’m certain of that!

    Justice Mac –

I’m so glad to hear you’re doing well — and doubly glad to have this site so we can all keep up with your progress. I thought your article in the C-J last week was really fantastic, and if nothing else I hope that what you’re going through will have an impact on others in this community who might be at risk. I wish you all the best, and if you come upon a day when you need an obnoxiously “perky” person around, just give me a call.

    Kristen

You personify strength and courage. I’m sure your recovery will be speedy.

Some of my best days were practicing before you. I look forward to the day that I will have the honor to practice before you again.

    Vaya con Dios!

Bill, Janet and I wish you the best and want to see you up and around soon. Janet still claims you are a graduate of Western Kentucky University which is why you are one of the very few who get to put a sign in our yard. Get well soon. Janet and Marvin

Mac, all of the Handmakers join me in wishing you a speedy recovery and quick return to the bench. Fortunately, the surgery did not alter your colleged affiliations. If you or Kristi need anything from a left-hander, just yell.

Great news! For all those skeptics I guess you’ve proven you REALLY do have a brain.
